Stearns I am a seminarian taking a break for discernment from the Diocese of Salt Lake City. My parents are moving to Castle Rock and I'm joining them. What would be the best way for me to get tied in with men like you to stay focused on the priesthood? Also, Salt Lake City stopped sending their seminarians to St. John Vianney in the 1990's. Why is that? From what I can tell, I would love to finish my theology work there. -Adam Calliham See all comments | ![]() Seminarian BBQ with Bishop Sheridan Welcome to FuturePriest.com, the website of the seminarians in the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado. As each of us strives to become a future priest we ask for your prayers and support. We have developed this site for two reasons: 1) We want to promote vocations to the Catholic Priesthood and religious life, And 2) We want to keep in contact with the parishioners in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs. On these pages you will find links to each seminarian (the links are at the bottom of this page) and his on-line journal if he has one, links that may be useful to you, and links to sponsors and supporters. We hope that you will visit these web pages and support those who support us. If you have questions about vocations, life at the seminary, our activities, want help in discerning a vocation or are just curious about something, please ask. You can ask a general question under our questions section and we will respond to you and post the response. The question section is to the right. Just complete the form and submit. Answers to questions previously asked are directly below the submission form. Just click on a question you are interested in and the answer will appear below the question. You may also e-mail one or several of us directly if you want a private response. Please also feel free to drop us a line just to say “Hi”, or wish us well. Please post a general note in our Guest Book or feel free to send a personal message directly to one of us. Each of the seminarians has his own page with a biography, a link to send him an e-mail and a link to a “Blog”(on-line journal) if he has one. Please note that neither the seminarians nor the diocese monitor or are responsible for the content of links beyond their individual pages or sites. This is a great way to get to know your seminarians. Please visit the sites. They are very entertaining and informative. We greatly appreciate the prayers and support of our parishioners in the Colorado Springs Diocese. Thank you for remembering all seminarians and those discerning a vocation in your daily prayers. May our Lord and His Blessed Mother guide and bless you always. | Questions?

Rayzor you should be talking to your spiritual director about those feelings. He is in a position to help you discern what they mean. -Michael B + My fellow brothers in search for the call of Christ I greet you all, I wish to ask as to how you deal with the feeling of 'loneliness' coz I believe I might not be the only seminarian with such a hickup (girls I mean). Raymond, you should be talking to your spiritual director about how to deal with those feelings. He is in the best position to help you. -Michael B + My name is Brandon from Pennsylvania. I am currently in 11th grade. I have a question about your calling. How do you truly know when you are being called to be a priests? I have dreams all the time about being a priest. I have sometimes already closed my eyes and saw Mary the mother of God praying for me. Is this normal. Lastly, How do you tell your parents if you know they will disagree with your calling?
Thanks. Hello Brandon,
Thanks for asking your question. If you think you have a calling to the priesthood, you should explore it. I suggest that you talk to your parish priest about this. You can also talk to the vocation director for your diocese. He should be listed on your diocese website. He is the person you go to to begin the process so he is very experienced with this. He may be able to arrange a retreat or a visit to a seminary to help you explore this call. Be sure to continue to pray for direction. Everyone experiences the call to the priesthood differently. That is part of what makes it special. There is no "normal" but I don't think you have anything to worry about.
The vocation director and your parish priest can also help you talk to your parents about this. Know that I will keep you in my prayers. Feel free to write us again and tell us how its going.
May God bless you and our Holy Mother keep you safe,
